ABOUT MAUREEN HYDE

Maureen Hyde is an American artist who received her MFA degree from UCLA, and who continually works at furthering her skill in the craft of painting, and in the art of style. The illustrator of many children's picture books and young adult novel covers for several of the major publishing houses, Ms. Hyde is currently teaching at a renowned art academy in Florence, Italy, where her own work is soaring to new heights. In authentically reviving the techniques of The Old Masters of painting, Maureen has so internalized them as to naturally apply them to compositions that remain uniquely hers.

Maureen was the illustrator of Gingerbread House’s three launch titles, and she has painted Gingerbread House’s latest release, Francis Woke Up Early, an imagined story that suggests events from the boyhood of Saint Francis of Assisi, inspired by actual events from his adult years.
