Reviewers and Award Committees Give “Thumbs Up!” to Gingerbread House’s Offerings

We here at Gingerbread House thank our colleagues in the wide book world for all the time, thought, and the behind-the-scenes effort it takes to give our books serious consideration, and to highlight to a larger readership any merit you may find in our small but sincere program.

Chapeaux!

It isn’t every start-up children’s book publisher that can boast so many important international awards and citations for its original titles, but it’s even more astonishing when the list is comprised of only eight original titles.

Gingerbread House has been garnering great reviews, and earning the attention of award committees. Here are some highlights. See the more comprehensive list, below:

—Four of Gingerbread House’s original titles were named to the coveted “Children’s Book Sense 76,” (The Picks List) a compilation of recommendations from the American Booksellers Association, which includes the American Booksellers for Children (ABC)

—Two have won the International Reading Association/Children's Book Council's "Children's Choices" award, and

—One has been honored with the most important international citation for a trade book with educational application, from The Global Learning Initiative, which is a partnership between the Association of Educational Publishers and the Bologna Children's Book Fair.

In addition to their being recognized with many other significant citations, all five titles have garnered dozens of rave reviews from traditional trade and consumer publications, and

—All have been featured as set dressings in five major motion pictures.
